Principal's Message

Message from the Principal

November 2017

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome back to another exciting year at TeWinkle!  As the Principal at TeWinkle, I am thrilled to be a part of the amazing staff that is preparing our young scholars to be passionate learners and college and career ready. During Middle School, we recognize that students are developing individually, intellectually, and are creating their own independent beliefs. We want to foster an environment where we empower our students by recognizing their diverse needs and individual strengths, and use that knowledge to build lifelong learners.

As a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) School, we offer an array of classes that are innovative and rigorous, and focus on a STEAM initiative.  Our Trojans have the options of taking courses in Robotics, Design and Engineers, Space and Flight or Medical Detectives.  In addition to PLTW, students can also be participants of music, AVID, Publications or ASB, giving all students an opportunity to become involved in areas of their own personal interest.  In the classroom, our students will be engaged 21st century learning. We promote peer to peer engagement, high levels of critical thinking, culturally relevant instruction, and students will be challenged to think outside of the box.

It is my strongest belief that TeWinkle Middle School students will be most successful when there is a strong partnership between the school and our families. We welcome our parents to be partners in supporting the students’ academic and social development. Please be participants by checking grades on School-Loop, emailing and calling teachers, and stopping by to talk to our school counselor, community facilitator, and administration.

We are looking forward to seeing growth in our students and celebrating their accomplishments throughout the year!
